HELLO! EXPLORING THE SUPER CUTE WORLD OF HELLO KITTY.

This year for Valentine’s Day I decided to take my mom to the Japanese American National Museum in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, California. The museum is currently displaying the Hello Kitty exhibit, “Hello! Exploring the Supercute World of Hello Kitty.” My mom & I have always been huge Hello Kitty fans so it was an honor to take her to the exhibit and to spend Valentine’s Day with someone who loves me unconditionally.

The first floor seems like a super deluxe Hello Kitty store. On display they have any and all Hello Kitty retail items that you could imagine. The items range in age, you have a mix of vintage and modern Hello Kitty pieces. There was so much stuff I couldn’t even believe it. Hello Kitty toilet paper, Hello Kitty braces, HELLO KITTY EVERYTHING. They even had the MAC x Hello Kitty collection on display. One thing they didn’t have on display was the Bape x Hello Kitty. There was a recent collection that was just released which is understandable why it wasn’t displayed but I know there is an older collab that exists so I’m bummed I didn’t get to see that at the exhibit.

The first floor was cute but the second floor was definitely my favorite. The second floor offered more art pieces compared to the first floor where it was mainly just retail items, most of which I had seen before. There was also a lot of history on the pieces on this floor. Below you can see a few photos of the second floor.

Overall I enjoyed the exhibit. I really wish it had been bigger though. If you happen to get the chance to stop by I would definitely recommend it. The exhibit will be on display until May 31, 2015. You can visit the JANM’s website for more information & pricing.

I also would like to apologize for the poor quality pictures, something I need to work on lolz.
