From one of the world’s greatest tastemakers we have GIRL by Pharrell Williams. GIRL of course takes after the name of Pharrell’s second studio album put out in 2014 which is the same year this fragrance debuted.
The fragrance is crafted out of Paris by none other than Comme des Garçons. It was actually CDG’S perfume Woodward that started Pharrell’s obsession with CDG. Apparently GIRL is not too far off from the Woodward scent. It is noted that the fragrance uses neroli, lavender, white pepper, iris, styrax, violet, patchouli, vetiver, sandalwood & cedar. From what I’ve heard it is citrusy at first & then dries down to a woody scent with a small hint of floral aromas. So it definitely sounds like the perfect blend for the ideal unisex fragrance.
For those familiar with Pharrell are sure to know that he is quite a powerhouse in the world of music, as well as art & fashion. Which apparently had come as a surprise to certain buyers of the perfume. It seems that this fragrance kind of put him on the map for people who were originally taking notice of the scent because it’s a Comme des Garçons product.
This makes a great one of a kind gift & it’s especially nice because it’s a gift for both genders. It’s also a super collectors item being that it’s a collaboration between Comme des Garçons & Pharrell, two masters in their field. Along with artist, Kaws, who is responsible for the bottle’s design.
At first the fragrance was available exclusively at Dover Street Market & Sephora but has just recently been relaunched for sale at Macy’s. Pricing falls between $30-$135 depending on what size bottle you get.
