A LIFE LONG DREAM COME TRUE.
I think it’s safe to say that Beyoncé is one of the handful of living legends among us. From her start with Destiny’s Child to 6 solo studio albums later, she has become a household name and adored icon for women around the world.
Growing up I was definitely a Beyoncé fan but I will admit that my love for her has grown in more recent years. Especially after the release of her first visual album, Beyoncé, back in 2013. I absolutely loved the feeling of being able to perceive her art through not only sound but sight. Now here we are three years later with the bittersweet release of Lemonade.
Needless to say, Lemonade shocked the world. As soon as Lemonade released I thought I would take the time to watch a few minutes of it. I had to get ready and leave for work so there was no way I would be able to watch the whole thing. About 5 minutes in, I text my boss to let him know that I would be coming into work a little late because of an emergency. Which it totally was because JAY-Z CHEATED ON BEYONCÉ.
HOW? WHY? WHEN? WITH WHO?
SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS.
The only thing I knew for sure was that I was hurt. I couldn’t believe it! Prince had just passed and now Beyoncé & Jay-Z’s relationship was dead; I didn’t know what to believe in anymore. It felt like so much magic had been taken out of the world just within a week. You can think I’m corny or dramatic or whatever but really, I just felt withered from all of it. It stayed that way for about a week. It was hard to listen to Lemonade because I didn’t want to be sad anymore. Finally after I got over it, I was able to listen to Lemonade countlessly and can now love it for everything it is.
After listening to Lemonade I knew that the Formation World Tour would be quite the show to see. This would be the most vulnerable Beyoncé the world has ever seen. Unfortunately I didn’t know that at the initial announcement of her world tour so I missed the pre-sale and decided that I just wouldn’t be able to see her this time around. However all of that changed on our way to go see Rihanna. My friends all had tickets to go see Beyoncé and were raving about how excited they were to see Rihanna and Beyoncé in the same week. That’s when I said fuck it and got the liquid courage to just drop some money on a Beyoncé ticket. There was no way I could miss this! By the time we had got to Rihanna, I had already cashed out & confirmed that I would be seeing Beyoncé with my friends in just two days.

I am so happy that I made that rash decision! The Formation World Tour was amazing & I’m so glad I didn’t miss out on it! Truthfully I would like to go see her again in September at the Dodger’s Stadium. It was everything I expected and more!
Beyoncé has fully earned the title of Queen B, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I watched this woman dance upon water and get on her hands and knees to belt out to the San Diego stars from the most medial pit of her heart. From her ballads to her chart toppers, everything was so enchanting. I had so much fun dancing , singing, and even crying – yes, I cried.
Seeing Rihanna was quite a change from the concerts I’m used to going to but Beyoncé was even more of a surprise! Thinking about how she literally sells out stadiums around the world was unimaginable. I can’t even begin to understand what it must be like to be Beyoncé; to be performing in front of 50,000+ fans on a nightly basis. That is absolutely wild to think about.
It’s been about two weeks since I went to the Formation World Tour and I still can’t stop thinking about it. I’m so glad that I didn’t over think it and just decided to get a ticket to go. That’s not always the most responsible thing to do but sometimes you just have to be irresponsible – trust me.
From the outfits to the choreography, from the all girl band to DJ Khaled; everything was BEYond amazing. I know that everyone who is lucky enough to see the Formation World Tour will feel the same. I also really hope she releases a Formation World Tour video because this was a show that I could literally watch over and over again.

If you got the chance to see the Formation World Tour as well, let me know what your thoughts are in the comments section below! I would love to hear them🐝
